Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger () [May Allāh honour him and grant him peace] as saying:

The mother of every person gives him birth according to his true nature (ie. Islam). It is subsequently his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian or a Magian.

Had his parents been Muslim he would have also remained a Muslim
.”
God’s Messenger, Muhammad [May Allāh honour him and grant him peace] , revealed in the Qur’ān (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:257):

Allāh is the Protector of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light.

The Five Pillars of Islam

The Five Pillars of Islam are obligatory for every Muslim and are essential to living an Islamic lifestyle; Islam is not merely a religion, but a complete way of life.

The Shahada

Testifying that there is no god but Allāh (God), and Muhammad is His Messenger.

Salah

Offering the compulsory prayers in congregation properly as well as the five daily prayers.

Zakat

Each Muslim must give 2.5% to charity when his net worth is at least 85g of gold or its equivalent in cash.

Hajj

Pilgrimage to the Sacred House of God in Mecca.

Sawm

Fasting during the month of Ramadān.

We abstain from food and drink from dawn until sunset on each day.

Islam in numbers

Islam is the fastest growing in the UK and the world – a global family of brothers and sisters who share not just faith, but social values and more.

Muslims support those in need with Zakat, which isn’t just throwing money at problems to try to solve them but feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, building homes and infrastructure, etc.
